Bio
"I've painted most of my life. Today I work in both oils and acrylics doing portraits, figures, landscapes and florals. Most of my work is based on themes around nature, but I do love portraiture.
I was profoundly influenced by several decades of painting (and coffee!) with my incredible friend and mentor, artist Dell Weller, along with a merry band of artists and friends known as Pone Aliquid, which is short for a Latin phrase I may explain some other time (it has to do with... well, I'll just explain it later. )
Color, movement and spontaneity attract me. I think that may come from being surrounded by Norwegian rosemaling my whole life.
It's great when people stop by and tell me how they are enjoying something they've purchased from me. I love seeing pictures of my artwork in new settings. I love when friends of people who already have a painting stop by and pick up something for their own homes.
I'm especially honored when someone chooses something I've created to bring into their spaces and become part of their lives. It's like an extension of family somehow.
You can always see what I'm up to on my Facebook page. Just look for Sarah Burnette Art." - Sarah Burnette
